Angelina “179” Villalobos, a Seattle based artist, is well known for intricate murals that feature colorful compositions painted organically, in layers of patterns. Often drawing from the natural environment and folklore, her work is a modern investigation of culture, religion, and family structure.
In What Grows Around, Comes Around, Angelina plays off themes of growth and movement by layering vine patterns over a serpent that slithers through an abyss. Positioned to the south of artwork by Rather Severe and Gabriel Marquez, colorful abstractions and psychedelic motifs connect the two murals.
