Jesse Brown, a Seattle based multidisciplinary artist, creates graphic works layered with patterned iconography and typography. Bold compositions are filled with cryptic symbols, forming puzzles for viewers to crack.
For SODO Track, Jesse combines a collection of icons that allude to manmade development, manufacturing, and the natural environment. Ascending ladders and stairs symbolize opportunity and upward mobility, while snakes in motion nod to the buses and trains traveling by. Formerly an Urban ArtWorks kid himself, Jesse painted this mural together with youth from Urban ArtWorks 2018 summer session.
