Ricky Lee Gordon, a South African artist currently based in Los Angeles, explores universal truths and the interconnectedness of life through his large scale site-specific works. Sometimes abstract and deconstructed, and sometimes straightforward and didactic, his work is inspired by meditation, travel, and Buddhist Dharma.
With Landscapes In Ceremony, Ricky presents a serene seascape depicting Orcas Island and Mount Baker. His mural was painted in reverence to the land, nature and the process of rejuvenation. Placed beside works by David de la Mano and Mark Warren Jacques, the series seemingly forms a mystical tale of migration.
